Sorry, I’ve Been Gone! (Or, What a Conservative Week!)

As most of you know, though, I have been busy.

I’ve covered and written about Maggie Gallagher’s views on adoption, concluding: “Simply put, this is a false issue, built by and for Maggie Gallagher upon nothing more than her strange sense of entitlement to the morals our nation’s orphaned children.” NOM, NOM, NOM.

Then, I attended CPAC, the annual D.C. conference for a far-too-big-collection of conservatives. My main story, “GOProud Goes Big at CPAC” covers gays, conservatives and gay conservatives at the conference, while “Holding on to Discrimination” looks at the growing split in the Republican Party over the future of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. I also interviewed the vice president of Pace University’s College Republicans, openly gay junior Craig Held, in “A Gay New Yorker in the CPAC Court.”

My increased role with Metro Weekly has, obviously, led to a decreased presence here, but I think it’s a good trade-off, and I am still able to post things here when I have something to say that’s not showing up at MW and have the time to say it.
