When will the Heterosexual finally accept that they are acting immorally and illegally in their abuse, degradation and discrimination against THEIR VERY OWN GAY & LESBIAN OFFSPRING?

Furthermore, what kind of a species NEEDS to be taught respect for their own offspring?

Morality indeed, Heteroseuxals. Morality indeed.

My jaw is on the floor. The flamboyant ignorance, and disdain, espoused by the proponents of proposition 8 is galling!

It will be a liberating delight to watch the religious, homophobic, zealots get their noses rubbed in the mess that they've created, and support. They already seem to be in over their heads! They will really lose if they are relying on deeply homophobic, and disturbed "ex-gays," and fertility techniques of lesbians and surrogate mothers. The act in itself is showing the court that they hold deep disdain towards gay parents.

They are demonstrating the need for a national program to educate children about sexuality, gender, sex, and sex education. These are common everyday human traits that homophobic religious zealots choose to ignore, and espouse anything but the truth in regards to these human traits.

I've often argued that hanging LGBT rights on the notion of immutability or "fixed at birth" is a bad idea for exactly this reason. What if it turns out to be just not true? Or at least, not true in the sense that race or certain disabilities are immutable? I certainly know a few bisexual individuals who seem perfectly capable of choosing whether to pursue male or female partners based on a variety of reasons.

Of course, the follow-up is that even if sexual orientation turns out to be partially or completely a matter of personal choice, there is no denying that it would be a choice of such deeply personal and intrinsic to identity as to be perfectly analogous to religious beliefs, and religion if a well-established protected class for the purposes of civil rights.

Chris,

I was wondering if the parties' responses to Judge Walker's order of last week (which I believe were due Monday) are available anywhere? More generally, is there an online location one can look to find the filings? I noticed that on prop8legalcommentaries.blogspot.com Mr. Ginsborg had a scribd place where you could find all the pre-8/17 filings but it has not been updated to include the most recent ones answering his order.
