Rep. Jordan, Focused on Ohio's Real Problems

You know what has Ohioans most concerned today?  You know what has them facing financial ruin and lost jobs and underperforming schools?

U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan knows: It’s the prospect of same-sex couples getting married in the District of Columbia.

Truly.

Rep. Jordan has taken on the mission of being the lead sponsor of H.R. 2608, a bill “To define marriage for all legal purposes in the District of Columbia to consist of the union of one man and one woman.”

Don’t worry, though, Jordan is not alone.  Fellow Ohioan, Rep. Robert Latta, signed on as a co-sponsor.

Neither notes the development on their Web sites.  This is the type of move that’s better targeted to some audiences and won’t be showing up front and center.  I think it’s a tough environment right now to be explaining to Ohioans that shepherding a bill that is divisive and has absolutely no impact on the lives of Ohioans is somehow the work that an Ohio representative should be focused on.

Please, call Jim Jordan at 202-225-2676, and thank him for ignoring the actual concerns of real Ohioans. Ask him to put aside H.R. 2806 and focus on Ohio’s real concerns.  For those outside Ohio, a full co-sponsor list is below the jump.
