[Welcome to the folks sent here from Jay Rosen @ Twitter! Thanks, Jay, for the mention. Please, everyone, check out and bookmark Law Dork, 2.0, and follow me on Twitter!]
Between the breakneck pace at which LGBT equality developments are occurring and the announced departure of Justice David Hackett Souter from the Supreme Court, it’s a great time for a gay lawyer to be blogging in this country. It’s also fun to be blogging as the 2010 races take shape (and as the political landscape appears to be shifting in front of our and Sen. Specter’s faces). Among the most notable posts from the past month are:
- Gay Justice? (covering the implication of a gay SCOTUS nominee)
- Why Not an AG? (considering a state attorney general for SCOTUS)
- Remembering Our History, Improving Our Future (regarding the hate crimes prevention bill)
- ‘A very complicated day for me’ (looking at Sen. Specter’s switch)
- Outing-ish, 2009 Redux (examing the treatment of Rep. Aaron Schock by three reporters/bloggers)
- Teabagging in Columbus (reviewing, in pictures, the teabag tax-day protests)
Thanks to everyone for visiting the blog and to Above the Law and SCOTUSblog for all the link-love.
As I deal with figuring out what Twitter means for my blogging, I’m finding myself starting more and more to take a cue from NYU’s Jay Rosen (jayrosen_nyu Twitter & PressThink blog). I’m trying to post much of the “quick links” and pithy (or not) thoughts (what Rosen calls “mindcasting”) at Twitter while reserving the blog for longer, more developed posts. In other words, if you like Law Dork, I’d encourage you to follow chrisgeidner @ Twitter.
