Oklahoma, believe it or not, has a Democratic attorney general. A.G. Drew Edmondson, however, is in his fifteenth year as attorney general and plans on running for governor in 2010. So, the A.G.’s spot is up for grabs.
According to the AP, Oklahoma City Attorney Ryan Leonard, a Republican, already has announced that he’s running. Besides holding the city attorney’s office, Leonard is the son of a federal judge and son-in-law of former Oklahoma Gov. Frank Keating,

Oklahoma having a Democratic Attorney-General shouldn’t be that surprising. It also has a very popular Democratic Governor and Lieutenant Governor, and had control over the State Senate until the last election. The Democratic are much more competitive on the local level than on the national.
Of course, the Democrats are more conservative here, like the Republicans are more liberal in New England.
